Captain H. J. Canterbury is a Government officer and minor character appearing in Completing the Mission, appearing in the "Cleaned 'em Out" and "Jewel Baron" endings.

H.J. Canterbury is a captain of the United States Marine Corps and is in charge of gathering information. He has a younger brother, Roland, who works in the Police force as a captain and officer trainer.

He is voiced by PuffballsUnited.

Appearance

H.J. is a stick figure who bears friendly mutton chops as well as a goatee for facial hair. He wears a green military cap and green shoes as part of his uniform.

In his Code 12 broadcast icon, his cap has a boxy-look akin to a CCC cap. As seen from his physical appearance in JB, this is not actually his hat as he bears the standard, more traditional-looking government cap.

Roles

Captain H.J. Canterbury while being a minor character plays a major role in CtM's "Cleaned 'em Out" path where his broadcasted info on the Toppats sends Henry on his next mission. He also appears in "Jewel Baron" as a minor antagonist.

Completing the Mission

Captain Canterbury was a Marine Corps captain trusted by General Hubert Galeforce to aid and participate in the Toppat Raid. His main role was to capture any information he could on the whereabouts of the Toppat Clan and what exactly they were up to. He is able to gather very important intel and 2 days before the launch of the Toppat Orbital Station, sends out a Code 12 broadcast to all U.S. Government units. He informs everyone about the Toppats mobilizing in the Dogobogo Jungle attempting to launch their orbital station in space making them unstoppable. He also gives info on the clan shipping all their stolen valuables, worth a lot of money, over the years to their secret base before taekoff.

Canterbury himself is already stationed in the Government Military Base set up by Galeforce with the military preparing their all-out raid on the Toppats. It is unlikely that H.J. himself was a participant in the battle, he seems to be stationed at the base similar to the General.

Cleaned 'em Out

H.J. makes an appearance at the beginning of the CeO route. While Henry Stickmin is inside his house playing video games, a broadcaster is heard advertising a 10th prestige lobby. Henry gets unamused and turns it to the newest message which is a Code 12 broadcast from Captain Canterbury. His profile picture appear as he is heard in a voicemail message in which he gives out newest information about the Toppats.

His mention on the Toppat Train and the Toppats shipping all of their stolen valuables on it is what intrigues Henry the most as it sets him out on a mission to collect all of the Toppats' loot without them even noticing.

Jewel Baron

He can be briefly spotted during the teleporter scene in a military base informing a few soldiers on a plan (presumably related to taking down the Toppats) and is disrupted when Henry suddenly teleports into the base due to him breaking the Teleporter. The player is unable to get his bio during this scene.

• His bio mentions him having a brother in the police force, who is Captain Roland Canterbury from Escaping the Prison. Judging by their facial hair, it can be presumed that H.J. is the elder brother while Roland is the younger one.
• The voicemail scene he is in is a reference to the Codec Messages from the Metal Gear franchise.
• Canterbury and Smokah Tyeson are the only government officers that can be see with unique military cap, one which looks a lot like a green CCC cap.
