Captain Roland Canterbury is a police captain and a minor character seen in Escaping the Prison.

Roland Canterbury is the first police captain seen in the game. According to his bio, he is in charge of training all the new recruits at the West Mesa Penitentiary and is very strict with his trainees. He has an older brother, H.J., who works for the Government as a captain of the United States Marine Corps.

Appearance[]

He wears dark blue shoes (the color of his shoes have changed from black to dark blue in the remaster), gloves and a golden monocle and badge. His uniform is darker than the other officer's uniforms and he has a very long and thin black mustache.

Escaping the Prison[]

He appears during a fail after Henry Stickmin tries to escape with the Teleporter, but ends up on a shooting range where he gets shot by Jonas Noogan. Despite the captain's strict nature, he seems remorseful witnessing Henry's death.

Trivia[]

  • He is referenced in Completing the Mission through Captain H. J. Canterbury's bio, which states him having a brother in the police force. Judging by their facial hair, it can be presumed that Roland is the younger brother while H.J. is the older one.
