The Escape Incident is a massive prison riot featured in the second half of the "Convict Allies" route of Fleeing the Complex.
It was accidentally started by inmates Henry Stickmin and Ellie Rose when they tried to escape The Wall. It involved all the convicts escaping from their prison cells and starting a full-on riot. The riot ended with numerous convicts escaping The Wall or dying trying and numerous guards being killed or injured in the process. The incident itself was called like in Completing the Mission, in the bios for Dmitri Johannes Petrov and Grigori Olyat. This was the first incident at The Wall in 50 years.
Fore-math[]
Henry Stickmin decides to help Ellie Rose escape The Wall instead of leaving her behind. Eventually, they leave the vent they were in and encounter the guards Heath Stone and Isaac Binderson. After strangling and knocking out them both, they move forward to see a room at the end of the hallway, with a vent on the ceiling. Ellie, using the Force, moves Henry to the top of the rooftop. Henry, clicking a button, opens every door in the complex: including the cell doors. It is possible that the quarantine cell from the "Fake Illness" fail also opened, but it was never seen.
Events[]
With every inmate now free, a riot emerges across the entire complex. Mr. Cool, Punkhauser, Ooba and Angry Mike rush through Henry and Ellie while Wild Willie starts fighting Horace Johnson and Gastro starts practicing magic, with one inmate saying that the situation is awesome. Henry and Ellie go through a different hallway, passing through Jack S'tickeye and Gus Garno, before being stopped by Ace Apex, Joe Joshin and Melvin Poolridge. Henry pulls out a rifle and Ellie pulls out a taser: Ellie shoots Henry with the taser and Henry shoots and kills the three guards with the rifle. The two move on and encounter two guards in an elevator, Darek Gorulik and Colby Phelps, who are rather calm despite the riot. After Ellie finds two hats for The Wall, Henry tosses one of them to the other side of the elevator. Darek goes to check and sees three convicts, Dan the Man, Lil' Mikey and Pierre Francois. Henry and Ellie go through the elevator.
On the surface, with numerous convicts and guards dying while fighting each other, with some of the events being Babushka and Karl the Klown escaping from Polus Petrovich and Kyle Baxter panicking. In the middle of the chaos, a jeep makes circles, running over both sides of the conflict. Suddenly, Ellie is captured by Grigori Olyat, the second-in-command. Henry makes a face which distracts Grigori for long enough to get hit by the previously mentioned jeep. Henry and Ellie then look for something that would help them escape: They notice Sean S.E. Lemming leading convicts through a fence, not knowing that it's next to a cliff and he's leading numerous convicts to their death. They also see three convicts, Misha Sashavo, Mark Emu and Peter Waylands, inside a truck that isn't being operated by anyone. They ultimately go for a bike nearby. As Henry gets on the bike, he's suddenly thrown off it by Dmitri Johannes Petrov, the Warden himself. Ellie drives away as Dmitri says that there has not been an incident in 50 years, but the day Henry shows up, a riot happens. As he proclaims Henry is going to regret everything, he's knocked out by Ellie, who returned with a stop sign in her hand. Henry and Ellie drive off, ending their involvement in the incident.
The Escape Incident ends sometime shortly after.
Aftermath[]
The Escape Incident completely tarnished The Wall's reputation and ended with numerous convicts escaping and guards dead. The Warden was left with broken teeth and his Right-Hand Man with a broken arm. The incident itself is the main reason for Dmitri deciding to bring an entire squad to find and recapture Henry and Ellie in the "Pardoned Pals"/"Toppat Recruits" ending. One of the escaped convicts, Mr. Cool, can be seen as a cameo in the "Triple Threat" route in the cafeteria for the Toppat Orbital Station.
