Grunt is a member of the Toppat Clan and a minor character appearing in Completing the Mission, during the "Little Nest Egg" route.

Little Nest Egg[]
During the "Little Nest Egg" pathway, Grunt is stationed aboard the Toppat Train and is seen when Henry Stickmin breaks the handle to one of the carts Grunt happens to be in. As Bartolomeo and Larry the Guy try to open the jammed door, Grunt notices this and signals that the Toppats aboard such as Mischievous Martin and Mr. Teal that they can't get to the other Cart to which Snowcap suggests going out the back.

He is shown wearing black gloves with matching shoes with a gas mask with a green lens. He also wears a red beret-like top hat.

- He's one of the few people that wear gloves. The other is Reginald Copperbottom, Nacy Popo, Dr. Vinschpinsilstien, Captain Roland Canterbury and Vladimir VonBraun, Liam Rogers, and Jaque LeTouche.
- The Grunt is a reference to the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit from Half-Life 1 and its expansions, most notably Half-Life: Opposing Force.
- Unlike the HECU Marines, who use M40 gas masks, he seems to use an M50 gas mask.
- The Grunt's speech pattern is also a parody of the HECU Marines. In the original Half-Life 1, the battle banter for Marines was made of individual words strung together in real time, instead of whole pre-assembled sentences.
- The Grunt is the 2nd character with the fewest amount of letters in his name in the entire collection, being 5. Unless you don't count symbols, in which case, the winner would be between Kent, Rai U and T.R.N.K., with 4 letters in their names.
- As mentioned in his bio, it is stated that he joined the Toppats already dressed like this. He's also a great fighter, which is a type of person that the Toppats aren't gonna turn down.
- His beret-top hat hybrid is a reference to the HECU's red beret.
