The Norwegian Emerald (Norwegian: Norsk Smaragd) is a gigantic emerald appearing only in the "Jewel Baron" ending of Completing the Mission.
Role[]
The Emerald only appears in the "Jewel Baron" ending, where it is kept in the vault of the Toppat Orbital Station (which, in this path, has successfully launched and is now in orbit). It plays a very important role as Henry's interest in the Emerald starts the "Jewel Baron" pathway. Henry hears about the emerald in a news report about the Toppats in which the reporter mentions about the emerald which was stolen from the Queen of Norway's chambers.
Henry decides to steal it in order to complete his collection of jewels: the Tunisian Diamond and the Romanian Ruby. He uses his scooter, which he has modified into a space vehicle, to break into the space station. There, he uses the teleporter to reach the vault, takes the emerald, and escapes with it into space. The Toppats try to kill him with the space station's Supreme Dominance, but Henry uses the Grow n' Shrink to enlarge the Emerald to reflect the laser back at them, destroying the entire orbital station. Reginald Copperbottom's escape pod inadvertently collides with them, and he is sucked into outer space. Henry safely returns to Earth with the Emerald in his inventory.
Trivia[]
- It reuses the design of the legacy Romanian Ruby.
- Out of the three jewels, the Norwegian Emerald is the only one to appear in one game, while Tunisian Diamond and the Romanian Ruby appear in at least two.
- Unlike the two other gemstones with fictitious origins, there are indeed Emerald mines in Norway.
- Alice Hamilton's news report states that the emerald was stolen from Norway "last year", which means that the Toppat Clan stole the Emerald before the rocket launch, counting in 2014, since the event takes place on November 22-26, 2015
