Phone a Friend is a mid-route Fork during Fleeing the Complex, after Henry chose to "Wait for Transfer" and then used a laser plane to break out of his cell. He ends up in the office underneath his cell, crushing a guard in the process. There, he finds a cell phone and can proceed to call one of two people for help: the Toppat Clan (Reginald Copperbottom), or the government (Charles Calvin). Since the Legacy version did not support any file info taken from ItA, it could not detect whether the player had completed either of the endings required, or even if the game was played in the first place.
Both choices are call backs to the previous game, Infiltrating the Airship. It had multiple, radically different endings like Fleeing the Complex. Which friend the player decides to call automatically determines which ending from ItA is continued from:
- When calling the Toppat Clan, the game continues from the Rapidly Promoted Executive ending with Henry still being the new Toppat Leader. This leads to The Betrayed ending.
- When calling the Government, the game continues from the Government Supported Private Investigator or Relentless Bounty Hunter ending, with Henry and Charles still being on good terms with each other as they collaboratively took down the Toppats, with Charles recalling how they worked together like before. This leads to the International Rescue Operative ending.
Locked Endings[]
In The Henry Stickmin Collection, Henry is unable to phone the Toppat Clan or the Government if the player has not obtained the aforementioned endings in ItA. The text will only display "Missing Ending from Infiltrating the Airship." If the player has only completed the "Pure Blooded Thief" pathway, in which Henry doesn't side with either, the game cannot be continued from this choice screen until one of the corresponding endings is unlocked (as seen in the image to the right).
